Formatic Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the Formatic Team ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of our mobile application, Formatic (the "App").

Formatic helps you work with Google Forms through the Google Forms API. It is an independent application and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.

We process information to provide and improve the App. The information involved depends on the features you use and the permissions you grant.

A. Information You Provide or Authorize Us to Access

• Google Account Information: When you connect your Google account, we process the account information and authorization tokens needed for the connection. We do not receive your Google password.
• Forms and Responses: With your authorization, we access the form content and related information needed for the actions you request, such as creating or editing forms. This may include form identifiers, titles, descriptions, questions, and settings. Responses are accessed only where an available feature requires them and you grant the relevant permission.
• Communications: If you contact us for support, we collect the information you provide, including your contact details, messages, and any attachments you choose to send.
• Purchase Information: If you make an in-app purchase through Apple, we receive transaction and subscription information needed to verify the purchase and provide the relevant features. Apple handles payment collection; we do not receive your full payment card details.

B. Information We Collect Automatically

• Usage Information: Information about interactions with the App, such as feature use and activity timestamps, where usage measurement is enabled.
• Device Information: Technical information such as app version, operating system, device model, and IP address.
• Crash and Performance Data: Diagnostic information, such as error reports and crash logs, used to identify problems and improve reliability.

We use information to:

• Connect your Google account and perform the form-related actions you request;
• Provide, maintain, and improve the App and its available features;
• Verify purchases, restore eligible purchases, and manage subscription access;
• Respond to your questions and provide customer support;
• Understand App usage and resolve technical problems;
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access; and
• Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights and the rights of others.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on contract performance for necessary services, legitimate interests for appropriate security and service improvement activities, legal obligations, or consent where required. Accepting this Policy does not replace separate consent where it is required.

Google User Data and Limited Use

Formatic's use information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements, and the applicable Google Workspace user data and developer policy.

We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or use it to train or improve generalized AI or machine learning models. Access, human review, and transfers are limited to the purposes and exceptions permitted by those policies.

We share information only for the purposes described in this Policy:

• Google: To connect your account and carry out your requested Google Forms operations. Google's own services are governed by its Privacy Policy.
• Apple: For App Store purchases and related transaction handling. Apple's services are governed by its Privacy Policy.
• At Your Direction: When you choose to share or export information through an available feature, it is sent to the recipients or destinations you select.
• Legal and Safety Reasons: When required by law or reasonably necessary to address fraud, security incidents, or legal claims.
• Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, subject to applicable protections and any required notice or consent, including Google's data-use restrictions.

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your information; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent; or complain to a data protection authority. Where applicable, rights also include opting out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising and appealing a denied request. Contact us using the details below to exercise your rights. We respond within applicable legal deadlines and may verify your identity where required.

You can revoke Formatic's Google access through your Google Account connections. Revoking access stops further access through that authorization but does not automatically delete information previously stored by Formatic. You can initiate deletion of your Formatic account from within the App. If you need assistance with account deletion or other privacy requests, you can contact us using the details below.

Deleting Formatic information does not by itself delete your original Google forms or cancel an Apple subscription. Manage subscriptions separately through your Apple Account.

If you submitted a response to a form, contact its creator about the collection and use of that response. Where we process responses solely on the creator's instructions, we assist with requests as required. This does not remove our own privacy responsibilities.

We take reasonable measures to protect information against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

We retain information only for as long as needed to provide the requested services, maintain security, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Information retained after a deletion request is limited to lawful retention needs and protected until deletion.

Formatic stores data locally on your device and also uses a database hosted on AWS. Original forms and responses stored in your Google account remain subject to Google's services. Data stored locally or in our AWS-hosted database is handled as described in this Privacy Policy.

Formatic accounts are intended for users who are at least 18 and legally able to enter a contract. We do not knowingly allow children under 18 to register directly for the App. If we learn that a child has provided information directly to us in violation of this rule, we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

Form responses may contain information about children. Form creators are responsible for any required notices and parental or guardian authorization, and we handle information processed on their behalf according to our role and applicable law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the date above and provide additional notice of material changes where required. If a change requires new consent, we will obtain it before beginning the relevant processing.
